GIS 4 Schools 2013

GIS 4 Schools is entering it's 9th year of providing coordination and technical support for schools participating in Minnesota DNR's Firewise in the Classroom Project.

Firewise in the classroom is a service learning project that introduces students to Geographic Information Technology (GIT) through a series of lessons that show students how to use GIT to help protect their homes and community from the threat of Wildfire or other natural or man-made disasters.

Minnesota Community Colleges are including Firewise in the Classroom as a service learning option for their students

GIS 4 Schools has expanded its services to provide assistance to  Rural Fire Departments interested in participating in the Firewise Project.
